Welcoming Junie, Hank, yoga and Musgrove in April - San Angelo Exemplar Times

This month is up to there with things to do at the library and it starts later this week as Be Theatre presents their fifth annual Literature Swarming. production at Stephens Central Library. Jones" will delight audiences for six performances on April 7 (7 p. m. ), April 8 (6 and 7:45 p. m. ) and April 9 (10 a. m. , 12:15 and 2:15 p. m. ). Tickets will be given out one hour before each show starts. Propaganda Alive. After the show, the children will be given Junie B. Jones books that they may have the characters sign for them. The book will remind them of the wonderful habits they had for years to come. Next Sunday, this paper will have a special section that contains a Hank the Cowdog story that has never been ready in the Hank books. Please share this special section with young readers so they will be familiar with Hank and the other colorful characters before Hank's writer, John R. Erickson, gives three concerts April 15 and 16. Erickson will be in town to precedent the 25th annual Read To Me. march at the courthouse at noon on April 15. Then he'll have a concert at 7 p. m. that evening at Stephens Medial and twice on Saturday at 11 a. m. and 1 p. m. The concerts are free but you must have a ticket. Tickets will be given out in Stephens' Children's Department beginning April 4. Trait programs such as John R. Erickson's visits and concerts are made possible by grants and donations. TGC Library would like to endorse and thank Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Tom Green County Friends of the Library, for bringing John Erickson to San Angelo. Court: Drugs found in chick's book bag after Oates Avenue raid - Columbus Ledger-Enquirer

Two of the three suspects charged in the Oates Avenue dope raid where a man was shot by a Metro Narcotics Task Force agent appeared in Recorder’s Court Friday morning. Co-defendants Twain Griffis, 48, of Columbus, and Sarah A. Jones, 33, of Cataula, faced multiple charges after the 6:30 a. m. search at 4218 Oates Ave. Thomas Wrenn, 33, of Columbus was lacking from the preliminary hearing after posting a $250 bond on a related charge of possession of a drug-related entity. Columbus Detective Ivan Rome said he and other agents with the Metro Narcotics Task Force executed a search stand by at the residence after a “controlled purchase” was made there. Authorities said at least nine people were inside the cosy when they knocked and announced the search warrant. Agents found a locked bedroom door as they were moving through the house and identifying themselves as police officers. After forcing clear the door, an agent from the from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office encountered Brian Napier, who officials said charged the factor. Authorities said the agent, whose name hasn’t been released, then fired his weapon, striking the man with a grazing envelop to his left arm. Napier was transported to the Midtown Medical Center but has since been released from the hospital. The Georgia Bureau of Probe was called in after the shooting to investigate, which is normal protocol in officer-involved shootings. Rome told the court that Griffis, Jones and Wrenn were come up to b become the five other people found inside the Oates Avenue home. “After a brief conversation, Ms. Jones acknowledged the as a matter of actual fact that she had stayed there for a few days,” the detective testified. While searching, deputies also found a Glock 9mm handgun. Tutt reportedly told investigators that the gun did not have a proper place in to him. Tutt is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during a crime, and possession of marijuana with eager to distribute.
