Revisionist FORCE Concepts Ballistic Off-Body Bag (VIDEO) - Guns.com

Every now and then a merchandise catches my eye. The Progressive Force Concept Ballistic Off-Body Bag, or BOBB, did this recently during a CCW course in Las Vegas, Nevada. PFC’s BOBB is a concealed carry out d kill bag designed for practical off-body weapons carry. This 100 percent American-made product begins with a low side-view (non-tactical) cross-body shoulder bag that houses a custom vacuum formed holster, ID panel, materiel storage compartments, and 6×18 inches of level IIIA body armor across the user’s caddy and pelvis. Deployment from the carry system is rapid, positive and intuitive with presentation times equivalent to well-known belt carry. In certain environments like hot weather, the gym, when wearing clothes without belt loops, where mask garments are impractical, or the need to carry additional equipment is a must, the BOBB has many advantages. Its performance when seated and even belted into a motor means solves many belt-mounted problems. BOBB systems are available in two non-tactical colors. flotilla blue and forest green, and interior holsters are custom ordered for your specified handgun. Check out the PFC BOBB result page here. Off-body carry is never ideal, but is expected. I never liked the tacticool bags, but don’t much feel interest for the manpurse look either. I’ve been using a High Sierra Access backpack for years for off-body. There is a mid-pack enclosed section, accessible only from a zipper on the left-hand. I modified it by velcroing a small Blue Force Gear Dapper Panel inside and using a 5. 11 Velcro holster. I also placed an AR500 Backpack IIIA Fine Body Armor in the inside laptop sleeve. All told, about $200 for a truly “civilian” off-body CCW bag that is also a prominent full functioning backpack in it’s own right. I’ve off-body carried with a Maxpedition for over 2 years now and so far I haven’t had any issues with that bag. Source: www.guns.com

Deluxe Trapezoid boot bag by High Sierra makes traveling easier - Examiner.com

The High Sierra boot bag has been designed to present a postpone a pair of boots, a helmet and various other accessories in a package sized to comply with airline carry-on rules. Constructed of direction grade 1680 Denier nylon this boot bag is designed to hold up to rugged use. The bag layout is interesting in that the boots are housed in discrete zippered compartments on either side of the bag. This arrangement protects the boots from damage during transit that might otherwise occur if they were packed together. Draw off ports are featured in each boot compartment to remove any water that may accumulate after a day on the slopes. A large U-shaped zippered lid provides relaxed entry to the central storage area of the bag. The brightly colored interior features an attached netted locker for helmet storage, along with a larger storage area for accessories such as googles, gloves and the like. The superficial of the boot bag features two zippered pockets and gear loops line the front of the bag. The carrying system consists of a dyad of adjustable padded shoulder straps and a heavy-duty curved handle. The zippers are heavy job and feature bright lime green colored plastic pulls. The back of the boot bag is supported by a high-density crummy backboard for added stability and comfort during transport. The High Sierra Deluxe Trapezoid boot bag was thoroughly tested during a current ski trip to Canada. Everything about this boot bag has been thoughtfully engineered to provide a balanced load. Packing the boot bag is carefree, starting with placing one boot in each outside padded compartment. The author’s helmet was placed in the netted center storage niche, which kept the helmet secure against the plastic backboard of the bag. After loading in three pairs of googles and two pairs of gloves, there still was a lot of dwelling left in the center compartment. Source: www.examiner.com

7 days, 7 hikes to Yosemite's High Sierra Camps - Santa Rosa Newspapermen Democrat

High Sierra Camps. - High Sierra Camps are typically unobstructed June through September, with nightly rates of $105-$180. - Guided hikes (3, 5 or 7 days) also are at one's fingertips, as are saddle trips. - Each summer’s lottery application period is Sept. - Watch for summer openings at yosemitepark. - Complete information about trip preparation, trail descriptions and photos are available at yosemitepark. Long ago, I heard of recondite treasures in the High Sierra above Yosemite Valley and spent three decades waiting for my chance to explore them. Now in my 50s, I got my wager to discover Yosemite’s seven High Sierra Camps, which allow the non-backpacker to experience the alpine beauty while enjoying the rustic comforts of bed, pillow, blanket, wood-flaming stove and meals. Slots for a limited number of summer reservations at one or more of the camps are awarded via lottery each clash. This year my husband Ryan and I won the lottery, earning the chance to spend seven glorious days hiking the 50-mile High Sierra Encamp loop, with a night at each camp. So it was that we found ourselves sleeping in platform tents, feeding wood-burning stoves, whispering merit nights in the dark, feeling comfortable and at peace with the world, embraced by the simplicity of the camps and the grandeur of wildness. Each day’s hike presented us with fun surprises. Hiking from May Lake to Sunrise, we trudged along the old Tioga Road, rounded one end of Tenaya Lake, seasoned 1. 5 miles of switchbacks and met several young men heading toward Yosemite Valley who guided us toward an unmarked tow. There we were greeted with a wonderful view of the perfectly U-shaped, glacier-formed Yosemite Valley with iconic Half Dome position tall. We opted to eat our lunch there, mesmerized for a full hour by the valley opening up below. Source: www.pressdemocrat.com
